The “Sublime”, used in conjunction with expansive mountain, land or seascape works, describes the “immense grandeur of nature” and illustrates its power to “compel and destroy us”.
This project explores the creation of photographic work that evokes these emotions but on a micro scale, through the use of viewpoint, cropping, detail and saturated colour. The viewer is asked to re-consider the power and wonder in their immediate environment.
