A life-long passion for image-making was piqued by the possibilities of digital photography and encouraged the transition from creator to recorder of environments.
Coutts is interested in exploring our emotional response to environments. Using the same building blocks as architecture, the resulting photographic images are careful studies in light, space, form and composition.
At a time where both mankind and nature appear poised to wreak mutual havoc, the artists’ work responds to our precarious relationship with our environment.
Coutts recently completed an MA in Photographic Studies at the University of Westminster, London.
